The Trump-Musk Debacle, Jonathan Rauch's Erroneous Reasoning, and the Dark Truth About Antidepressants, SSRIs, and the Psychiatrists Lying for Profit
The Vigilant Voice (June 7, 2025)
Greetings fellow vigilant citizens,
How are you today?
On this day, June 7th, in 1975, NBA basketball star Allen Iverson was born. He seemed like such a punk in his youth, but he was very fun to watch on the basketball court.
On this same day, June 7th, in 1843, German Poet Friedrich Hölderlin died. I read some of Hölderlin’s poetry in college and wondered what it all meant. Now I would like to study his poetry in connections with Heidegger’s philosophy.

But what’s going on in this crazy clown world 🤡 🌎 today?
This man really regrets his new Trump-Musk back tattoo.
A judge determined that Trump will get the nation on weekdays, while Musk gets the nation every other weekend and holidays. Maybe they can still be reconciled. Maybe not.
Victor Davis Hanson is confused about the break-up. Did Elon Musk just throw a temper tantrum? Who knows? What is missing from the media, in my opinion, is a clear explanation about the origins of this political theater, and how it is connected to the secret society that Elon Musk leads.
There are as many reasons to doubt Trump as there are reasons to doubt Musk, but I’m much more concerned about the flock of timid and industrious herd animals, formerly known as citizens of the United States, of which the government is the shepherd, and which are so easily corralled into opposing camps. Panem et circenses. Remember that Trump is first and foremost a celebrity entertainer, and that Musk is first and foremost a propagandist chief of the Illuminati. I won’t be surprised when a third, independent party forms.
For the record, this was Elon’s tweet (which he subsequently deleted):
"Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files," he wrote. "That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!"
Daniel J. Mahoney’s essay “Contre Sartre: on Raymond Aron’s Critique de Sartre” is the kind of thing that I would like to read if I had a subscription to The New Criterion. Francis Fukuyama’s article “A Chilling Prediction by Leo Strauss” is the kind of thing that I would like to read if I had time.
My dad’s (Ralph Hancock’s) recent articles “Moral Agency and Sustainable Liberalism: Rauch’s Proposed Liberal-Christian Alliance” and “A New Political Theology of ‘Agency’” are also the kind of thing that I would like to read, and that I did read. I agree that “what should concern us is the speciousness of Rauch’s invitation to adopt his supposedly apolitical interpretation of Christianity,” that “it would be foolish for Christians to accept Rauch’s assurance that there is nothing at stake in today’s political controversies that bears on fundamental moral and religious concerns,” and that “to see the tendentiousness of Rauch’s ‘Christian’ appeal for ‘negotiation,’ it is sufficient to consider whether the author would care to ‘renegotiate’ the recent and thoroughly radical redefinition of marriage that is so central to his conception of liberal justice.” I also agree that “if there is a contemporary political lesson to be drawn from the LDS idea of the eternal significance of moral agency, this insight would not at all be aligned with Rauch’s fundamentally secular and ostensibly neutral and pseudo-scientific liberalism.” In simple terms, my dad is right and Jonathan Rauch is wrong.
The most significant development in current events, however, is Tucker Carlson’s interview with my friend Laura Delano regarding “The Dark Truth About Antidepressants, SSRIs, and the Psychiatrists Lying for Profit.” For more than a decade I have warned the world and sounded the alarm on the truth about psychiatry, and now, in this interview, the message has begun to reach a wider audience. There is much more that I can say on this topic, and I would tell Tucker about it myself if the opportunity arose. But in the meantime, Laura did a great job of articulating part of the dark truth.
Dr. Peter and Ginger Breggin (who are also among the greatest articulators of the truth about psychiatry) denounced RFK, Jr. for blatantly supporting the deadly mRNA COVID shots. The bioweapon jabs have harmed and killed millions of innocent people, and I agree that if RFK, Jr. supports them, he must be forced to resign.
Finally, Jason Preston and Sophie Anderson exposed the truth about the Utah GOP. Good for them.
